Career Prospect and Employment
With the on-going transformation to Industry 4.0, the demands for engineers with a major in smart manufacturing are tremendous. As an interdisciplinary field, smart manufacturing is the best carrier and motivity of the related fundamental research, and it can also demonstrate the impact of both fundamental and applied research more effectively and intuitively. Our degree program provides students with both cross-disciplinary fundamental theoretical training and hands-on training to prepare them better equipped for future challenges. Students graduated from this program will demonstrate broad based knowledge and practical capability of various smart manufacturing technologies and production processes. The graduates from this program will fulfil the market expectation and have great employment prospects.
Curriculum and Requirement
Overall Introduction
Under Enquiry-based Cross-disciplinary Active Learning Model, students will take undergraduate common core courses and fundamental courses based on various interests and backgrounds in their first and second academic years. In the third academic year, students can choose the smart manufacturing major and start to take its major courses. At this stage, students need to meet the requirements of the major required courses and major electives of BEng in Smart Manufacturing. The main courses cover Industry 4.0, advanced manufacturing, industrial data analysis, digital information technology, intelligent automation and other subjects, and these courses are crucial to smart manufacturing.
