Research on intelligent subway track condition monitoring method based on vehicle sensor and big data algorithm

2023 Open Project of the National Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Control and Safety, 2023-2024, on-going research project.

This research studies the method of intelligent monitoring of metro rail track condition based on on-board sensors and big data. Synchronous data collected from sensors deployed on multiple rail cars, are integrated through an on-board monitoring terminal with vibration and noise fusion. Based on in-vehicle vibration and noise signals with the help of intelligent algorithms, the following are realized: 1) train positioning; 2) abnormal event capture, including rail corrugation, rail joint unevenness, train shaking and other events; 3) estimation of the reverse mapping relationship from train vibration and noise to track condition, so as to realize the positioning and prediction of train and track defects. This technology is a set of lightweight, independent, non-intrusive intelligent on-board defect detection technology, which is an innovative idea and method to overcome the bottleneck problem of lack of rail track condition monitoring means and measurement data. In addition, this project provides basic data for vibration and noise control of urban rail transit trains in China, and plays a role in promoting the digitalization and intelligence of rail system operation and maintenance management.
